Salmon filets are placed directly into the air fryer and cooked to perfection in less than 10 minutes. The air fryer salmon recipe is finished with a sweet and savory, mustard maple glaze which is will have you craving this dish for the glaze alone.

The older I get, the more I look for quick ways to cook nutritious (see not processed) food. Salmon is a fantastic protein with enough fat content to up the flavor beyond leaner fishes. Give me tasty, albeit a little fatty, salmon over something from the microwave all day long. The air fryer is a miracle machine for taking care of my caloric needs. Air Fryer Salmon Recipe Ingredients
Salmon:
- 2 salmon fillets, between 6-8 ounces
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Kosher salt
Mustard Maple Glaze:
- 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt

Preheat the air fryer to 400F
Brush oil on the skin side of the salmon filets and place them in the air fryer basket skin side down.
Sprinkle a little salt on the meat side of the salmon:

Should I air fry salmon skin up or skin down?
You can do either, but skin down makes it easier to keep the salmon together.
Which leads into the next question:
How to Keep Salmon from Sticking in the Air Fryer?
Brush a little oil on the skin side and place the salmon skin side down in the basket or place a piece of foil in the bottom of the air fryer basket.
Set the timer on the air fryer for 7 minutes and insert the basket with the salmon
Does Salmon need to be Flipped in the Air Fryer?
A 6-8 ounce piece of salmon cooks so quickly that it does not need to be flipped over. In less than 10 minutes the salmon is ready to serve. Besides, flipping it inside that air fryer basket is just a mess waiting to happen
While the salmon cooks, combine the rest of the ingredients in a bowl and blend completely:

When the timer goes off at 7 minutes, using an instant read thermometer check the internal temp. Target temp is 145F-155F. If the salmon is not quite 145F, cook for another 60-90 second.
Otherwise remove from the air fryer and brush on the sweet and savory sauce:

Plate the salmon with whatever side you prefer:

Air Fryer Salmon Recipe Recap:
So quick and easy and yet absolutely nutrient rich and loaded with flavor. That mustard maple glaze steals the show. I could quite easily eat this twice a week, if not more.
